News Flash: We Have A New Volunteer Coordinator!
Our new Volunteer Coordinator, Yolanda Bansah, began her work with CVRAN as a high school student at U32, volunteering with one of the CVRAN families and organizing a multi-high school gathering on refugees and asylum seekers. She is now a student at Fordham University, but still impassioned about immigration issues. With her excellent computer skills, volunteer help will be just a keystroke away in New York.
Each person who registers as a volunteer on our website lists their skills and interests. This allows Yolanda to match a volunteer with the right mix to someone who needs a particular type of help. She may also reach out to members with requests through our email list. Perhaps one of them will be just right for you!
We are very excited to have Yolanda take on this important function of connecting volunteers with ways to support our new neighbors. Volunteers are what makes CVRAN possible, and Yolanda will be our link.
Hello! My name is Yolanda and I’m thrilled to join CVRAN as the Volunteer Coordinator.
I’ve always felt a very deep commitment to creating spaces where diverse communities can come together, and I’m excited to work with others who are passionate about supporting refugees as they make Vermont their new home. Volunteering and refugee advocacy are very important to me and I look forward to fostering a welcoming environment that uplifts us all and where refugees feel valued and welcome. I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to CVRAN’s effort in welcoming new Vermonters.
