March Arts Marathon Participant: Glen Hutcheson
Mission: A collaborative painting developed throughout the month of March by me and visitors to The Front gallery in Montpelier.
Message: The March Arts Marathon has long been the backbone of CVRAN fundraising. Sponsors like you will be assisting with housing, living expenses, and legal fees for asylum seeker and refugee families as they come to Central Vermont.
The March Arts Marathon is a community effort. For six days each week in March poets, writers, painters, photographers, fabric artists, collage and multimedia artists will each send a copy of their daily work to friends and family. And friends and family will donate to support newcomers to our region, who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities.
You can support my particular marathon project in three ways:
1.) Donate to CVRAN! The more help they get, the better right now. Your donations and messages will encourage me and my collaborators to keep up the painting process through the month of March.
2.) Help paint my big collaboration! Starting on Friday March 7th (the opening day of my “Solo Group Show,”) everyone is welcome to visit The Front and put your marks on the project, as much or as little as you like. The Front’s open hours are Friday 4-7, Saturday and Sunday 11-5, or get in touch to make an appointment during off hours. In the gallery you’ll find the painting in process on the wall, along with everything you’ll need to join in (i.e. acrylic paint markers and some prompts).
3.) Spread the word and bring your friends! Feel free to share this widely. And find other artists participating in the Marathon to support their efforts as well.
THANK YOU!
