March Arts Marathon Participant: Team: Loring Starr and Jean Vissering
Mission: Loring will work on mobiles (found objects, paper, beads, wire, etc.), paper sculptures, and greeting cards. Jean will be doing watercolor sketches and paintings of varying subjects – landscape, architecture, still life, animals, etc.
Loring will take the lead for the first 11 days or so, with occasional posts from Jean; then we’ll switch for a while; then share after that. Jean’s posts will be concentrated primarily in mid-March and intermittently along with Loring later in March.
Message: The March Arts Marathon has long been the backbone of CVRAN fundraising. Sponsors like you will be assisting with housing, living expenses, and legal fees for asylum seeker and refugee families as they come to Central Vermont.
The March Arts Marathon is a community effort. For six days each week in March poets, writers, painters, photographers, fabric artists, collage and multimedia artists will each send a copy of their daily work to friends and family. And friends and family will donate to support this work. Together we will be helping to welcome new Americans, who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities.
