March Arts Marathon Participant: Ruth Coppersmith
Mission: Travel Photos (maybe?), photo with drawings, and photo collages.
Message: The March Arts Marathon has long been the backbone of CVRAN fundraising. Sponsors like you will be assisting with housing, living expenses, and legal fees for asylum seekers and refugee families as they come to Central Vermont. I have volunteered teaching English to some of the refugees through CVRAN and seen how invaluable their support is to these families trying to establish themselves in Vermont and lead a new life here.
The March Arts Marathon is a community effort. For six days each week in March poets, writers, painters, photographers, fabric artists, collage and multimedia artists will each send a copy of their daily work to friends and family. And friends and family will donate to support this work. Together we will be helping to welcome new Americans, who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities.
