March Arts Marathon Participant: Nancy Oakes
Mission: Inspired by Ross Gay’s book, “Book of Delights”, I am setting myself the challenge to take special notice of small joys that I encounter during the month of March. Each day I will document one “Dailey Delight” in the form of photography, painting, poetry or “ponderings”. Since the recent installment of two bird feeders, I have experienced much pleasure from my close observations of a myriad of birds. More illustrated birds soon to follow!
Message: he March Arts Marathon has long been the backbone of CVRAN fundraising. Sponsors like you will be assisting with housing, living expenses, and legal fees for asylum seeker and refugee families as they come to Central Vermont.
The March Arts Marathon is a community effort. For six days each week in March poets, writers, painters, photographers, fabric artists, collage and multimedia artists will each send a copy of their daily work to friends and family. And friends and family will donate to support this work. Together we will be helping to welcome new Americans, who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities.
