Beauty in Nature : Watercolor Glimpses

Participant: Rachel Walker Cogbill

Mission: A watercolor or a stage in a watercolor each day

I am so glad you are joining in on this community-wide March fundraising effort for the Asylum Seekers Assistance Network (ASAN), a project of CVRAN. We assist asylum seekers to get out of detention and resettled in Central Vermont. ASAN is already supporting a family of four and plans to take in other asylum seekers this year. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for legal bonds, living expenses, and lawyers’ fees. The March Arts Marathon is a community effort: every day in March, poets and writers and artists and photographers will each send a piece of work to friends and family. You will then donate to support this work (or you can sign up to be an artist, too!) Together we will be helping to welcome new Americans who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities. If you sign up as a supporter for my page, you will receive one photo of a watercolor or one stage of a watercolor every day via email. You will be with me on the journey for those that turn out well, and the ones that are just a good try. I am excited to have this tangible way of supporting a good cause, and at the same time to challenge myself to grow as a painter.
