Phil Scott, who has advocated for Vermont to accept more refugees, acknowledged that the state’s lack of housing is a major problem for its resettlement efforts. “We need people here in Vermont, and we have the jobs for people here in Vermont, but we don’t have the housing they need to be here,” he said in an interview Thursday. “It’s a very frustrating dynamic, and we’re going to do everything we can.” Scott said his administration will be introducing a package of housing proposals in the upcoming legislative session.
