Lulu Wootton March Arts Marathon

Participant: Lulu Wootton

Mission: Prints: Relief, Linoleum, Drypoint etc!

Welcome to my tiny print studio in Northern Vermont! I focus on carving relief prints, but also create through other forms of printing: collagraph, carborundum, drypoint, multimedia. Color is my love. But this past year I also focused on the traditional Lino cuts of two tones.

During March my studio is an exciting place! Visiting it virtually is exciting too. And once again it will be open to you as a generous sponsor of this year’s March Art Madness.
Six days a week I will share many images and thoughts of my daily art practice using google docs and emails – offering you a unique peek into the drama of how prints are made. Some pieces will get finished. Others not so much. Experimentation and learning are key factors for my creative process.

“The March Arts Marathon is the backbone of Central Vermont Refugee Action Network’s fundraising. All funds from Sponsors will assist with housing, living expenses, and legal fees for asylum seekers and Afghan refugee families as they come to Central Vermont.

The March Arts Marathon is a community effort. For six days each week in March poets, writers, painters, photographers, fabric artists, collage and multimedia artists will each send a copy of their daily work to the Marathon sponsors. Artists are not financially sponsored by you, but your support becomes the backbone of their commitment to their practice for the month – all funds donated go to CVRAN. Together we will be helping to welcome new Americans, who in turn will add immeasurably to our own communities.”
