Affordable Housing Update!
It’s time to celebrate, give thanks, and recalibrate!
On June 30th, all the pieces came together and through the work of many people, a large CVRAN family can continue to live in the home they have occupied for 18 months. The deed for the home was transferred to an entity that will make that property indefinitely available as an affordable rental property to refugee and/or asylum-seeking families working with CVRAN. Should the current family decide to leave in the future, another refugee or asylum-seeking family will have an affordable place to live, and so on through the years.
This is truly momentous and only possible through the generosity of so many donors, our legal counsel, countless CVRAN volunteers, and the support of the CVRAN Board.
The Affordable Housing Committee and Board have more work ahead, but today let’s celebrate!
